Lollapalooza 2003. Who was on that bill? The headline acts were A Perfect Circle, Queens of the Stone Age, Incubus, Audioslave, and Jane's Addiction. The Marcus Amp. was the "main" stage, but there were bands performing outside of the Marcus as well. The Donnas, Jurassic 5, and The Distillers were making their own impression on a stage just outside of the Marcus Amphitheater entrance.
The date of the show was close to the end of Summerfest 2003, but no matter. Would people remember what fun they had five years back? Would they come out again? After all, fans had waited half a decade for "Lolla" to start back up. It was a nice break for some, but far too long for others. Milwaukee was one of the venues that managed to attract big numbers, and thus sell many tickets. By the time that Jane's Addiction hit the stage, the amphitheater was nearly full.
Since that 2003 tour, the event has seen its ups and downs. In 2004, the tour was mothballed once again. The year after that, the event was limited to a two day festival, set in a city that wasn't too far from everywhere else, and that seemed to work out for everyone. The 2013 event will take place in Chicago, and it runs for three days.
