It's been three years since that hot summer tour, where the Kings of Leon were on the verge of flying apart. The band had been on the road for months, playing non-stop for what seemed like years, and it was all catching up with certain members of the group. After what they admit was a sub par show in Dallas, the remainder of their 2011 tour was cancelled. That tour included just over ninety show dates. Prior to that, the Kings of Leon did a world tour that lasted the better part of two years. It's safe to say that the group was burned out.
In 2014, the band embarked on their "Mechanical Bull" tour. It was spread over three continents, and included 74 shows in total. Twelve tour dates had to be rescheduled, after their drummer, Nathan Followill injured his ribs in a bus accident. It seems that the Kings of Leon have found the time to reflect on the amazing success of recent years. They have yet to put together a full summer tour, so fans might want to take advantage of the few dates booked so far.
